Sea Eagle Inflatable Rafts
Written by Bob Nackskyski on July 5th, 2009If what you seek is an inflatable boat with both durability and versatility, then theres a good chance that you should have a look at Sea Eagles line of inflatables. These rafts can be used for three different things which include rafting, lake fishing, and fly fishing. These can also be used if youre just feeling lazy and want to float down a river either alone or with a group of people. Generally this only means two or three other people, and there are many different types of boats available. There are a few boats listed below, but this does not mean by any stretch of the imagination that this is all there is.
The first on the list is the Sea Eagle 6 (SE6). This little beauty is designed to handle 650 pounds. It can comfortable for two people with not much gear so in reality it was designed for one person with not a lot of gear to haul. It is able to use a motor up to 2hp with using the motor mount option. This boat inflatable is extremely light weighing at only 25 pounds.
Then theres the Sea Eagle 8. This boat is extremely popular, though it should not be confused with the r(8). This boat is made for a single person and can be used for either fishing, boating, or random floating if you just want to get away for a while. After all, what better place to get away than the middle of a lake where there is no cell phone reception?
The aforementioned Sea Eagle r(8) is a very reliable boat that features a set of oars, a rowing seat, a pump, and a fisherman’s seat if you are so inclined to use it. There are many different features with it like a two compartment floor and a safety chamber. This boat is second to none except for the next highest model, and can hold three adults. You can even attach a 3 hp gas engine to it, and you will find that it is made of very durable material, so it can take some punishment.
The next in line is the Sea Eagle 9. This is a lot like the previously mentioned raft because everyone loves it for river floating or fly fishing. The biggest difference is that this raft can be used for white water rafting if you so desire. It can hold up to 1200 lbs which translates into a total of five adults, and is made of Polykrylar. You can punp the raft in as little as fifteen minutes and even attach a motor to it that can sail at up to four hp.
Other options available for this inflatable raft are a sun canopy, windshield, bench seats and floor boards.
The next thing that you will want to look at is what is known as the Sea Eagle Sailcat, which measure approximately fourteen feet. The package has the boat, oars, a storage bag made of nylon, two nice comfortable cushions, benches, and the sailing rig. The rig has the mast, mast step, lantern rig, and the tiller/rudder system. The most interesting part about this system is that the sail is able to fold. Deflated the entire thing is about 60″x14″x12″, and inflated it is around 9′6″x4″. The entire thing weighs about ninety seven pounds and can stand up to twenty five mile per hour winds.
Sea Eagle makes some of the greatest inflatable boats on the market, and your search for a decent one ends here. Anything that you could ever want in a raft, Sea Eagle makes. It doesn’t matter if you want to float, fish, or raft, there is a boat for you and you will be pleased with your purchase.
