Fishing technique for a jig can depend on the circumstances. The most effective method, IMHO, is to cast the lure out, and bounce it off the bottom. You will lose a lot of jigs like this, but if you aren’t hitting snags or rocks, you aren’t prospecting where the fish are.
My granddaughter loves this game – to a point where she brings it over every time she comes to grandma’s house. The cards are laminated and sturdy. Her little brother has carried the box around the house several times and it is still intact – almost impossible to tear. An inexpensive alternative to fancy video/electronic games. Back to the simple!

Many times it isn’t when we are actually fishing that our hands get cold, but rather they get cold when we are travelling to our favorite ice fishing spot. In order to keep our hands warm we need something that is more than just waterproof. We need something that is going to protect our hands from the elements. That way when we arrive at our destination, the last thing we are thinking about is our hands, but we will be ready to fish.
These fishing gloves are made from a neoprene material, which makes it very breathable and is very quick drying. Within the palms of each glove, there are rubber dots, which give the gloves an anti-slip feature, making them ideal for any fishing trip.
Try changing things up a bit by altering your retrieve. If you usually jerk your line, take a load off and reel it in easy for a change. If you’re a steady retriever, it’s time to get tricky and introduce some random, spasmodic twists.
Many fishermen, especially who are relatively new in the field of fishing chose random gloves over specialized ones. The result is facing uncomfortable situations. Veteran hunters will be the first one to tell you that finding the right pair of fishing gloves is important.
A player asks for a specific card instead of a rank. A player must still have at least one card of the named rank in order to ask, and must expose that card when asking. This is similar to Happy Families.
These are the same cloth-backed vinyl work gloves used by commercial fishermen for the toughest, nastiest jobs. They feature a doubledipped, seamless PVC non-slip surface from the wrist to the fingertips and a high-top cuff that extends up your arm to keep your sleeves dry while providing excellent grip.
Max is a trendy, pretty, young lesbian, who is having trouble finding love. A friend sets her up with Ely, whom Max likes, but Ely is frumpy, homely, and older. Nor do they have much in common. Can Max learn to look past the packaging? Written by Reid Gagle
For beginners, using a larger bobber that you can see from the bank makes catching fish much easier. With a bobber, the angler will be able to see a strike from a fish when the bobber starts to jerk and disappear below the surface of the water. Put on just enough shot (sinkers), however, to compensate for the larger bobber to prevent being too hard to see the action of the biting fish.
Another popular method of fishing from kayaks which has emerged is that of softbaiting. This involves weighted jigheads and rubber or plastic soft lures in the shapes of baitfish. This method is the predominant method now used, particularly in the Southern hemisphere, as it reduces the need to take messy livebaits on board the kayak.
Construction: Although all jigs seem similar, the shape of the lead head is of the utmost importance. A football shape works best in rocky areas. Bullet heads punch through grass. Jigs with line-ties on the top of the head are best for swimming.
Fish-fooling Feature: Although it’s a very small part of the design of this lure, the line-tie is very important. Positioned beneath the nose, a twitch on slack line makes it dart to the side, which has proved irresistible to any fish that will eat bait on the surface, from large and smallmouth bass to tarpon.
Jig fishing takes a lot of concentration, unlike spinners, all the “action” (how a lure moves in the water) comes from you. If you don’t do anything the jig just sinks. The classic way to fish a jig is to cast it out, wait until it hits the bottom (you will know it has hit bottom when your line goes slack), then retrieve it in a series of hops. You make it hop by lifting the rod tip, lowering it, and retrieving your line. Try different speeds, big lifts, little hops, twitching until you find what works. Pay attention, though. Detecting the strike is the hardest thing about jigging.
This may be the first time you hear me say this, but Go Fish was too artistic and dated for my enjoyment. I think that if I had seen this film when it was first released back in 1994 I would have been impressed. This was a very avant-garde film that tried very hard to discuss an issue that was very “hush-hush” back in the early 90s. Lesbians were very closeted back then and were not a major part of the culture norm as they are today (well, as much as we recognize them today). This makes for a very provocative film, but it also makes for a very dated film. This was my biggest issue with this film was that it nearly felt like a comedy instead of this symbolic struggle to pursue happiness like any heterosexual relationship. I realize that director Rose Troche was trying to show us that a lesbian relationship is no different than a male and female relationship and even lesbians talk like men talk about women, but somehow it just felt very dated and cliché for me. It didn’t open more doors in my mind to the lifestyle of lesbians, but instead gave me this dated image of this butch lesbian that is rebelling against something instead of embracing the true lifestyle.
Engineered above and below the waterline to be the perfect fishing platform, the Predator Family from Old Town has what it takes to target everything from small-pond largemouths to rough-seas stripers. The Predator comes loaded with features including a slip-resistant deck and the Element Seating System. Made of SuperFabric material, this fishing glove can deflect hooks, knives, and teeth too. Despite the incredible deflection system, it allows you to have an excellent grip on slippery fish to catch, clean or drag from the water.
For me one of the worst things about fishing with gloves is losing dexterity. If you are like me and looking for a glove that is tight-fitting. A glove that will keep your hands warm, but also give you control and feeling of your reel, rod and lures I would recommend the Icearmor Dryskinz Gloves.
“In addition, since your range is reduced, you learn to slow your approach. You spend more time at each lay-down tree, and fish structure from all angles and with multiple lures. I think you become a smarter and more thorough angler, not catching only fish that are willing to pounce on the first lure through their territory. Finally, your reward is heightened in a kayak. This year I landed a 44-pound striper from my Big Tuna. While it would have been exciting in a boat, the feeling was indescribable in the kayak. I still have a small aluminum boat that I use occasionally for longer distance outings but every time I use it, I find myself wishing I was in my kayak.”
Take ‘N’ Play Anywhere games feature big magnetic playing pieces that easy for kids to use and hard for kids to lose. The convenient 6 3/4″ square tin case makes it easy to slip the games into most bags to take everywhere and keep kids entertained on a trip, waiting at the doctor’s office, dining out, while stuck in traffic or just visiting grandma’s house. In Go Fishing, use the magnetic fishing poles to catch the colorful fish and put them in your boat.
Don’t overdo it. Fishing is a lot like chess, a game of quiet movements and subtlety, not herky-jerky nonsense. Most beginners jerk the line around too much. It’s important to reel in very slowly, using calm and gentle movements on the line. If you’re not catching anything, slow your movements down and be gentler with your rod.
It was flat magnet pieces with pics of fish on them and the fish poles didn’t even pick up the fish. The magnets don’t work. I got this for my child for a road trip game but I ended up throwing it out.
Soft-plastic worms, minnows and crayfish are available in many sizes and colors. You can use them with or without a weight. Sometimes, plastic fishing baits are used with a jig head, spinner or spinner bait. Some plastic baits have a scent built into them that is attractive to fish.
