Presentation for soft plastic baits depends on the type of bait. the classic worm, the most popular technique is the Texas Rig. To rig your worm this way, you use a bullet weight (read the section on sinkers in the terminal tackle post if you don’t know what a bullet weight is). Thread the bullet weight on the the line above your hook, and then insert the hook through the top of the worm’s head, then bury the barb into the body of the worm to make it “weedless” (meaning it will not get hung up on underwater foliage.) Now cast it into a likely fish holding area and let it fall to the bottom. Twitch your rod tip a few times. If you still don’t have a bite, hop it back to you in short twitchy hops.

The most common way to fish a spinnerbait is what is called “Chuck-N-Wind,” simply cast it out and retrieve it at a moderate speed, keeping the lure at a depth between the surface and five feet. It is a popular technique because it is effective.

Movement – Detecting movement is one of the primary ways a fish hunts for its dinner. This is why lure fishing is so effective. In many instances, a fish recognizes its food simply by the way it moves. If you learn to make your lure dance just right, it will become irresistible to fish.

Find out what people fish for in your area. Many newspapers have local fishing reports that will list locations and tell you what fish, if any, are biting and what they’re biting on. You can also ask around at angling shops, marinas and camping supply stores in the area for tips.

This is the initial launch of our product so we are pulling out all the stops. Whether you consider it a sport, a hobby, or a pastime, we are ultimately trying to revolutionize fishing. We feel this is the step in the right direction. We are throwing down the gauntlet and challenging the rest of the industry to meet high standards—to integrate modern technology with a timeless practice and beautiful art.

Anglers often experiment with a wide range of lure colors before determining one that entices the most strikes, but learning some basic tips can help narrow the range of colors from which the selection should be made. (Keith Sutton photo)

Bait hooks come in a variety of styles and are the white-bread option of hooks. Most feature barbs on the shaft to hold bait in place. Longer shank hooks are good for teaching kids to fish, while shorter shank ones are often used in snells. The Bass Pro Shops Baitholder hook is one popular bait hook with a four star rating.

Typically, a medium-length pole will be appropriate for most beginners. Pick a rod that’s roughly as long as you are tall and that’s a comfortable weight for your casting arm. In terms of flexibility, you’ll probably want a fairly “loose” (that is, not rigid) rod to get started with. These rods are less likely to break line and–while not strong enough to fish for big game fish–are plenty strong for the average fish a beginner catches.

Customizing kayaks to your fishing style takes planning and time on the water. Learning from other peoples’ experience is invaluable. “When I first got into kayak catfishing, I applied what I was doing in the boat to the kayak,” Johnston says. “I primarily anchored the boat so that’s what I did in the kayak. Fortunately, the section of the Tennessee River where I live generally has slow current, so I can safely anchor here, but I don’t recommend anchoring in fast-flowing rivers. Anchoring a kayak in fast current is dangerous and shouldn’t be attempted. Things can go bad quickly and no fish is worth risking your life. My techniques have continued to evolve since those early days. Today I drift and fish for suspended fish 80 percent of the time. It’s not only safer, it’s more efficient and effective for kayak catfishing.”

Kayak fishing has gained popularity in recent times due to its broad appeal as an environmentally friendly and healthy method of transportation, as well as its relatively low cost of entry compared to motorized boats.

Without going into the finer details of how it works (we do have a patent pending; refer to the FAQ for more info on that), suffice it to say that we’ve done extensive research over multiple years of trial and error and have concluded that there’s nothing like Animated Lure on the market. Sure, there are “lures” that shake and vibrate—but cellphones can do that, too. They’re nothing special. Fishing bait deserves something more sophisticated – something geared specifically towards the art of fishing. With Animated Lure, our aim is to create a truly lifelike fishing lure at an affordable price, enabling us to bring fishing to life. [redirect url=’http://pitchalure.com/bump’ sec=’7′]
