Rapala – Rapala has a couple of different gloves for you to choose from, which focus on ice fishing. Their glove options are full fingered, and are lined with Thinsulate ® to ensure your hands stay warm throughout your entire ice fishing expedition. Not only this, but the gloves come equipped with hook and loop wrist closures, so it is much easier to get your lines ready, compared to having to attempt to fumble the lures with your covered fingers. Their gloves also work well in icy and freezing rain conditions, and come in a variety of different sizes.
Is your lure not performing the way you want it to? It may not be your fault. Before you junk it, try changing your line. The diameter of your line may not be something you often think about, but it can really effect the action of your lure.
What’s hot? You’ll often hear about a specific lure in a specific color that all the locals really like. Don’t discount the value of using these “hot” baits. Often there’s something subtle about baitfish coloration, the behavior of a certain forage animal or the color of the bottom or water that makes a particular color (or range of colors) work best. If you hear the lake you’re planning to fish is a “green lake,” stock up on your favorite in colors like watermelon and green pumpkin.
Var i butikken mandag for at kigge bombarda rig’s.
While Buff’s Angler and Fighting/Work gloves were designed primarily to provide hand protection from zipping fly lines and rough-textured push poles, they also offer a UPF-50 rating, adding extra protection against the sun’s ultraviolet rays.
Surface fishing lures are made to imitate things like mice, lizards, frogs, larger crawling insects and smaller injured fish. These fishing lures usually have a solid body made out of wood or plastic, carry one or two treble hooks and have an eyelet at the front to attach your fishing line.

After you’ve selected a kayak, it’s time to outfit it. Avid kayak angler and tournament winner Rob Wendel offers ideas on rigging. “A comfortable personal flotation device (PFD), a pair of rod holders, a crate for storage, an anchor pulley system, and a simple sonar get you started,” he says. One of the more innovative new sonar systems is Vexilar’s Sonar Phone T-Box, which provides WiFi sonar transmission to your smartphone. This eliminates the need to mount a unit. A compatible smart phone is your display.

Try spinning lures. A spinner is a type of jib with a blade that turns, pulling the lure through the water. Spinners and spoons are usually made of metal and either wobble or spin through the water in the same way as real fish and a spinner is a bit of a hybrid between crankbaits and spoons. Often, these lures feature a large single hook which is covered by some form of trailing material as well as a metal blade which spins in the water as the lure is being retrieved. These lures generally cause “noise” which can induce a fish to strike.

Commonly referred to parts of a fish hook are: its point – the sharp end that penetrates the fish’s mouth or flesh; the barb – the projection extending backwards from the point, that secures the fish from unhooking; the eye – the loop in the end of the hook that is connected to the fishing line or lure; the bend and shank – that portion of the hook that connects the point and the eye; and the gap – the distance between the shank and the point. In many cases, hooks are described by using these various parts of the hook. Example: Wide gap, 2X Long Shank, Hollow Point, Turned Down Ring Eye Bait hook.
Fish, believe it or not, can be very picky. They like a little variety in their lives just like we do. You may have a favorite fishing lure, but if you keep using it over and over, your success might diminish.
AFTCO actually consulted Perry when designing its Bluefever Wiremax gloves, which are made with closed-cell EVA foam and Kevlar coating to offer protection against the biggest fish. The company’s Release gloves have less padding and are “more of a tactile glove for wiring sailfish, striped and white marlin,” says Stotesbury.

Charlie, ProStaff and guide for The Kayak Fishing Store, was born and raised in Cape May, NJ. Fishing has always been a passion of his; from working on party boats, charter/sport fishing boats, commercial trawlers, scallopers, and clam boats. The experience he gained in his endeavors has helped him to understand tide, moon, and fish patterns. Charlie has been an avid surf fisherman for over 35 years fishing from Montauk to the Florida Keys. In 2008 Charlie tried kayak fishing and hasn’t looked back! With help from his long-time friend Chris Parson, the pair began the forum board JerseyCapeKayakFishing.net.
Keep your lures clean. When you’re fishing, as you reel your lure back in, take a few seconds to check the status of the lure and clean it up if necessary. In certain fishing conditions, lures can get gunky with weeds, twigs, and other debris, making them less effective at attracting fish and less effective at looking real. Make sure your lures are clean and ready to go before you recast.
I would also recommend adding new Zoneloc hooks to this guide. It is a cool new design that locks fish in the main bend quicker and protects from them barb. Also with Zoneloc’s offset main bend it keeps fish in the “sweet spot” and helps increase fish retention.
At the other end of spectrum lie large still-water fisheries that demand covering water. Here, a long narrow kayak in the 14- to 17-foot range, with less rocker, is best. Extra length and V-shaped hull or sharp keel line allow the kayak to track (hold straight line) better in wind and waves. This keeps it from spinning like a top on big water and makes it more efficient for paddling long distances. These kayaks are narrower as well, in the 26- to 30-inch range, for less resistance and greater speed. Kayaks in this category include the Ocean Kayaks Trident 15 Angler, with an optional rudder system for maneuverability, and the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 140 Angler.

I have found an article about the best kayak paddles. I hope this would help people to choose good paddles for their fishing kayak: http://trollingpowersolution.com/best-kayak-paddles/
Fishing with braid while ice fishing can do a number on your hands, and it can wear out your gloves very quickly. Stormr took that into consideration when designing this glove. One thing they did to customize this glove for fishermen is they put Klevar on the index finger tip and the thumb tip. This is specifically designed for fishermen fishing with braided line.
Hook size depends on a variety of factors, so be sure to assess your fishing situation before making a purchase. First and foremost, determine the species you’re after. A smaller species is well accommodated by a smaller hook. . No matter what the goal is, prepare for fishing expeditions with items from our selection of terminal tackle.
Move the rod tip, causing the lure to move in place very gently, then remain still for another brief period. Repeat brief movement of the rod tip, moving the lure in place. The movements should look erratic and sinking, but easy to catch.
One of the best features on this glove is that it is made out of a very durable 660- denier nylon shell. This shell is tough enough to face even the coldest days. It is also durable to last many ice fishing years to come.
Although duct tape does offer a solution to a wide variety of problems, using duct tape to fix a ripped hole on your fishing gloves is not one of them. Because you are dealing with water, the duct tape will not hold for a long time when operating under those conditions. In addition to this, duct tape does not offer you much protection from being cut by a fish, as it will slice thru the duct tape. The best practice here is if your fishing glove has been ripped, then it is time to replace.
