Crappie is not only one of the tastiest fish to eat. It is also purely enjoyable to catch. Unless you’ve gotten instruction in catching this kind of fish, how will you know some of the Crappie tips?

Read these beginner’s Crappie tips and you too can start reeling in those Crappie.

*Utilize rods that move lightly. It’s not necessary to invest a whole lot on costly fishing rod and reels. One might even utilize cane poles pretty efficiently. An ideal fishing rig will be one that is light in weight, like the Zebco 404 rod and reel. You can’t successfully go Crappie fishing with either a medium or heavy action rod. With this type of rod, it’s impossible for you to feel the fish taking the bait.

*Don’t spend a ton of cash on a bunch of tackle. Fishing line that is light in weight is the main requirement for landing Crappie, (my personal recommendation is using 4-8 lb. test monofilament fishing line), a few No.2 hooks (Eagle Claw’s wire braid gold hooks), and a few corks, and lightweight sinkers. If wished, one may additionally buy a Crappie jig pack. Typically, one may locate a Crappie jig pack with various weighted heads and various colors at the sporting goods shop in your town for less than ten dollars.

*Figure out where you’re going to fish. It’s simple to catch crappie in rivers, lakes, feeder creeks, and ponds. When fishing off the bank of a large lake, your best chance to bring in a good catch is during the spring and fall. Hide under something when you are in the same location as crappies. Wedging themselves into brush and hiding beneath logs are two of their favorite things to do.

*Using live minnow bait is generally ideal for catching crappie fish. Most every bait shop sells these. Starting 18 inches below a cork, use a #2 hook to tie off the bottom of your line. Different depths will provide different results, so feel free to experiment. It might be necessary to move the cork down a full yard or so beneath the cork. You will find the right spot if you have a variety of poles that you can fish with at varying depths.

*When utilizing jigs, begin with jig heads which are one eighth of an ounce. I recommend starting with chartreuse, as it is a highly dominant color when Crappie fishing. Let your jig down near a tree stump or fallen log, allowing it to descend all the way down. Take it back up, then drop in once more at a different place close to cover. Remember to go back and drop the jig in the prior place at least one more time before giving up.

*When using a pier or boat for fishing, you would need to use a #2 hook on the loop with a light weight tied at the bottom and the loop knot located at 8-12 inches above the weight. You can drop your line lower about halfway after hooking a minnow under the dorsal fin. Remember to only drop halfway down in the beginning, as the majority of Crappie will suspend their location. In case you don’t get a nibble, try dropping three-fourths of the way down.

As soon as you get it figured out, crappie aren’t hard to catch. However, just like with anything else, the further you go the more self improvement you will see. Thus, what reasons do you have for not going out this Saturday and Sunday and begin to use these Crappie tips to get some of your own Crappie?

These Crappie Tips for a fisherman who is just starting out will get you on your way to catching those Crappies. Go to the link to find out more Crappie fishing secrets.

Avid fishermen, listen up. You do not need to sit on the banks, being chilled half to death, while the wind whips about burning your cheeks and stinging your eyes. A fishing bivvy will help you stay warm, dry and comfortable during those long hours spent waiting for the fish to bite. There are actually simply times during the season when the angling is great, but the weather doesn’t want to cooperate in the least bit. The use of bivvies allows anglers to stay out at the banks and finish their fishing expedition while the little swimmers continue to be biting, even if Mother Nature has decided to call on the rain and the cold.

While there are various bivvies that you might choose from, you’ll want to pick the one that suits your personal needs the best. A fishing bivvy will usually accommodate one to two people, although there are larger bivvies available. The lower priced bivvies are often smaller, lighter in weight, and meant for short periods of use. A higher priced piece is going to be heavier duty and is nice for longer angling trips. Those made with a rigid frame system will stand up to winds much better than those that are made with lightweight or bendable frames will.

Bivvies are available with covers, that will often have different qualities of material. Some covers are made to keep driving rain out, while some are only water resistant during a light sprinkling of rain. Screen enclosures on the front help to keep out biting flies, mosquitoes, and other nuisance insects or animals.

Choosing your fishing bivvy is a particularly individual decision. You will need to base that decision on the answers you give to the following questions: Where will you do most of your angling? Will there be much room to install your fishing bivvy? Will you bring many supplies with you that may need to be stored under shelter? Do you plan to fish alone or with a mate? Will the bivvy-setup be left only to you, or will you have assistance at the ready? Do you plan to fish for hours at a time? Days at a time? What is the likelihood that you will be angling in particularly inclement weather? What is your budget?

The answers to these questions will vary according to the angler that’s answering them. Be sure not to base your decision to buy on only one of the factors listed above. Take all of the questions into account whenever you make your choice. Also, try not to think only of the upcoming angling season, but also think of the years to come. Will your answers change? Are you planning to broaden your angling horizons? If so, reevaluate, taking those changes into consideration also. With this information fresh inside your head, you will likely be ready to pick a fantastic fishing bivvy for all of your angling needs. Then it is time to sit down and wait for the carp to bite.

Bass fishing has became so popular that it is now over a billion dollar industry. There are bass clubs all over the world, and there are also many events and sponsors that promote bass fishing. So if you are wondering if bass fishing is here to stay, we can safely say that it will be around for a long time if not forever.

There are many places in freshwater where you can find bass at, for example you can find them in rivers, lakes, streams or ponds. The best place out of these to catch bass would be a river, especially a spot in a river that has a change in current. Obstructions like rocks, fallen trees or stumps make great places for bass to be around.

Largemouth Bass without a doubt is the most sought after game fish in Florida. It is the main target of the majority of anglers. Many of these lure busting monsters in the 10 to 12 pound range are taken every year in local waters.

Some other types of freshwater fish that are also worthy to catch are the brown bullhead, along with the catfish. These fish are very fun to fight, not only are they very fun to fight they can make a great meal at the dinner table also. But when it comes to overall popularity, the bass still takes the crown of freshwater fishing.

For freshwater fishing, all you really need is a pole and maybe a can of worms to catch some fish. When it comes to bass though, it gets little more technical than just that. Bass have been fished for hundreds of years, and we still do not know exactly what they like, we have a good idea though.

Over the years have grown many kinds of techniques to catch bass, along with many types of tackle used in bass fishing also. If you are just starting out and want to get into bass fishing, you might want to start with a light fishing rod that holds about 10 pound test.

Also, it is suggested to start with artificial bait until the angler has a better understanding of the unique characteristics of the bass fish. The Spinnerbait is common artificial bait used by both amateur and seasoned anglers.

Once you catch a bass, they are almost always released. This technique is called catch and release, and was made to conserve the population of different species of fish. Many people do not consider bass to be a fish served on the dinner table, thus catch and release is used on bass in most cases.
